Weighing about 55 pounds, Trudy was rescued on her last day at a high kill public shelter. She is now thriving in a foster home where she enjoys the company of her canine foster siblings and the dogs she plays with at doggie day care. She is affectionate with people, and once you make friends with Trudy, you have a friend for life. Trudy is housebroken and is learning basic obedience skills, like sit and polite leash walking. She is gentle with kids, and we expect would be a good family dog. True to her breed mix, she is an exceptionally smart dog and learns new behaviors with lightning speed. Her favorite activities include going for walks, chewing on elk horns, playing with tennis balls, and romping with other medium- and large-sized dogs. Trudy has a medium-high energy level, and will thrive in an active household eager to go walking, hiking, and/or running with her. At night, Trudy likes to snuggle up for a good cuddle.
